I must really like you J. to listen to all 5:16. Kidding.
It had an oddly psychedelic feel all combined together. Anything live?

E- I even liked it on youtube. It's like a first kiss.

Psychedelic is a nice way to put it! That's a bit generous I think, but I'll take it.

Not sure I understand your question.

Oh boy, I got a YouTube like! Looks like somebody hit the “dislike” button too lol. I wish whoever it was would share their criticisms with me! Maybe some random person saw a new upload titled “Big Boss Man” and thought it would be a sweet new version they never heard. I would dislike that shit too.

Either that, or it confirmed to them that the Dead is just NOT all that those darned flaky hippies have made of them ... :-)

Thanks for posting that. You're so lucky to be able to play so well; it must increase your understanding/appreciation a lot. As well as being fun to "play with the band." Next time put it up with a video of you playing!

Hah, thanks for the kind words. Yes, playing any instrument really helps develop one's ear for music, and just increases the overall enjoyment factor of hearing the instrument you play. It certainly has given me a greater appreciation for Jerry too.

If I put up a video, I'd have to figure out an alternative recording method. It was recorded through the little built-in video/audio recorder in my laptop and to make it sound anything close to decent, I have to face the laptop directly at my speakers and amp. If I play in front of the laptop to be in view of the camera, I will be blocking the sound coming from the the speakers and amp and it sound much worse.

I just thought of something though. The recorder on my phone is probably of higher quality and I will try that next time.

By the way, in that thread with the Golden Road vid, as LIA noted, is the single version from their self-titled debut album in 1967.

On the Golden Road video: Yeah, the music is from the LP, but I wondered what performance the video shows, and if so, what the real soundtrack would be. (If it exists.)
